Embracing Our Fears
As I sat preparing to write I glanced at my bookcase, and the words “Women of Wisdom” by Tsultrim Allione jumped out at me. I opened it on a bookmarked page and upon re-reading, found food for my soul. The food was one sentence in particular, and to summarise, it was focused around the battle vs nurture of our demons and the importance of embracing our fears. Fear can be highly infectious and destabilising, and once under the skin it can take over, impacting spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.

Now, more than ever, is a time for nurturing all of these aspects of ourselves and for being aware and accepting of the times when we are drawn down the old and familiar pathways of fear that take us away from our heart that holds wisdom and knowledge and guides us to freedom and self-compassion and nurture. As I connect to this I remember all the women, past and present, who have shown me kindness and shared their wisdom and reflected back to me an inner knowing that needed to be honoured and remembered.
