For My Friends

For my Friends

I value my friends hugely and feel so blessed to have a small group with whom I feel safe.  This is especially precious and meaningful for me at this time of life.  These shared experiences and supportive conversations are akin to treasured gifts. There is a generosity of spirit and wisdom that I experience with friends and the support that I receive from them is unquantifiable.  In addition to this, the menopause has brought me closer to friends that for one reason or another I have been distant from.  This shared experience of menopause has brought us together once more and we are now able to reconnect and support one another through this time of change and re-emergence.  It is as if we have come back together to help us remember who we were and too support one another in rediscovering aspects of ourselves that have been forgotten and are now ready to be rediscovered and reignited.

“I believe that through the wisdom of age, and with the help of friendship and loving connection, we are more likely to reflect on our past with an open heart and find deeper meaning and purpose in the second half of our lives.”

Rachel Podger

I believe that through the wisdom of age, and with the help of friendship and loving connection, we are more likely to reflect on our past with an open heart and find deeper meaning and purpose in the second half of our lives.   The heart is a wise and honourable place to do this from and accompanied by friends we will be more likely to give ourselves the opportunity to live a more fulfilled and enjoyable life.I know for sure that I want to keep nurturing these old friendships and growing and building new connections and to encourage myself and others to value their own experiences of menopause and the wisdom that this is harnessing them with.  I know my body isn’t as young as it was but my heart remains hopeful of a future that is life-enhancing and joyful.
