Watching the Waves

Watching the Waves

To be by the sea and out in the fresh air for the majority of last weekend was a hug from Nature.  I love being by the sea, listening its sound and watching the waves, helps me find perspective and I become more present and attuned to my senses.  I feel refreshed and clearer after a walk along the coastal path and it reminded of the importance of taking time to pause and connect more deeply with Nature. On one walk, I discovered a beautiful rock and was compelled to lie down on it.  It felt solid and supportive, and when I breathed and connected with it, I softened and relaxed into the experience and became aware of the depth of the earth beneath me.  I felt the tension drain out of me and I allowed myself to receive the support that I felt from this letting go.  I hadn’t realised how much I had been holding.

“I felt the tension drain out of me and I allowed myself to receive the support that I felt from this letting go.”

Rachel Podger

I have recorded a meditation today which helps to open up and receive love and support which allows a softening throughout the body.  I find this time to myself an essential aspect of well-being and the sense of spaciousness that I gain from this means that my shoulders feel lighter and all of my being feels alive and at peace. This allows clarity and the precious aspects and values of life that I hold close within my heart become aligned.  This deeper connection draws me closer to Nature and hold its hug.  Moments like this are like treasure that when unearthed need to be cared for and brought back to life regularly.  They are tender and can slip through my fingers like sand.  Hold on too tightly though and I forget to breathe in the fresh air and all that is around me.
