The Power of Colour

The Power of Colour

Today, as I noticed I was caught in thoughts, I came back to my breath and remembered what I had written about last week. I looked up and took in the colour of the remaining leaves and felt more peaceful and alive. At the same time, I remembered a conversation with a friend about colour and using a meditative space/visualisation to connect to a specific colour and to notice how this feels. I have read a little about colour therapy and am interested in it concerning healing and its other benefits. I am also aware of colour in connection to the chakra system and the benefits I receive from tuning into to recharge and realign myself.

“I reconnect with the sense of peace that I experienced this morning, and my nervous system feels soothed and calm.”

Rachel Podger

As I write now, I picture the green of the leaves that caught my attention this morning, and I fill myself with this image and colour.  I reconnect with the sense of peace that I experienced this morning, and my nervous system feels soothed and calm.  The colour green is connected to the heart chakra, to love and openness and as I bring it to mind and allow myself to experience it within my body, I feel a sense of gratitude and joy.  This week, I have recorded a meditation to focus on the colour green and hope that it might be as much benefit to you as it is to me.  I find that nature provides me with so much colour and at this time of year I have been amazed that it remains consistent in its ability to keep giving and surprising me with beautiful moments that uplift and calm.  At the moment I find it is the balance of strength and gentleness that are most prevalent and absorb me in these shorter days and sustain me in the long nights.
